OFFICIAL RULES: ANSWERS TO CLOSED HUNTS

Version 1.0

Last updated: 2026-10-20

1. About These Rules

1.1 These rules govern answers submitted for a Hunt after that Hunt has closed without a correct entry ("late answers"), for every Hunt listed in section 2.

1.2 These rules are made by The Void Between ("the Operator"), a registered Australian business based in Queensland, Australia. The Operator's contact email is [loading…] (the "Contact Email").

1.3 Submitting a late answer does not enter you into any prize promotion, and it is free.

1.4 Where these rules name a clause of the "Official Rules", they mean the Official Rules, version 1.4, published at https://www.thevoidbetween.com/rules/v1-4/. That clause applies to late answers as these rules set out.

1.5 If a Hunt's own Official Rules deal with answers submitted after that Hunt closed, those rules govern late answers for that Hunt, and these rules apply to it only so far as they are consistent with them.

2. Hunts Open for Late Answers

2.1 Late answers are accepted only for the Hunts listed below, and only while they are listed. A Hunt is listed while it is unsolved, and is removed when a late answer for it is recognised (clause 7.3).

2.2 For each listed Hunt, the table gives the Answer Required and the Answer Format. In an Answer Format, and in clause 4.6 of the Official Rules as applied by section 6, "entry" means a late answer.

3. Who Can Submit

3.1 You must be 18 or over.

3.2 You must submit your late answer personally, for yourself. Clause 4.4 of the Official Rules (fair entry) applies to late answers as it applies to entries.

3.3 The Operator, and anyone involved in making or running a Hunt, may not submit a late answer for that Hunt.

4. How to Submit

4.1 Submit your late answer using the Submission Page at https://www.thevoidbetween.com/enter/. Choose the Hunt from its list. Your answer is judged for the Hunt you choose.

Submit your answer

4.2 Comments are not entries. A comment, post, or message on any social media platform, and any email or direct message, is not a late answer. Posting an answer publicly lets other people submit it before you.

4.3 Clause 4.5 of the Official Rules (receipts) applies to late answers. You are not told whether your late answer is correct.

5. How Often

5.1 For each listed Hunt, you may submit one late answer per email address. After that, you may submit another late answer for that Hunt once 23 days have passed since the receipt time of your last one. A late answer for one Hunt does not affect any other Hunt.

5.2 A late answer beyond this limit is not accepted, and if it is recorded it is disregarded. If the Operator has evidence that a person has used more than one email address or other identity to submit more than one late answer for a Hunt in the same period, the Operator may disregard all of that person's late answers for that Hunt.

6. How Late Answers Are Judged

6.1 A late answer is judged under clause 4.6 of the Official Rules (what counts as correct), read as follows: the Answer Format is the one in section 2 for the Hunt you chose; and the record in clause 4.6(e) is the record the Operator made before that Hunt was first listed in section 2, which is not changed while the Hunt is listed.

6.2 The first correct late answer for a Hunt, by receipt time, is recognised. The receipt time is the time recorded by the Submission Page when the answer is received, to the millisecond, and the Operator's records decide any dispute about it. If correct late answers for the same Hunt have the same receipt time, each of them is recognised.

6.3 Before recognising a late answer, the Operator checks it in the way clause 5.3 of the Official Rules describes for a winning entry. The Operator's decision on whether a late answer is correct is final.

7. What Recognition Means

7.1 Recognition is acknowledgement only. Unless section 2 shows a prize for a Hunt, no prize, entry into any promotion, or other benefit attaches to a late answer.

7.2 A prize for answering a Hunt after it closed is offered only as a separate Hunt, announced with its own Official Rules and linked from that Hunt's row in section 2. Those rules govern that prize.

7.3 Once a late answer for a Hunt is recognised, the Hunt is removed from section 2 and from the Submission Page, and no later answer for it is considered.

8. The Announcement

8.1 A recognised late answer is announced in the same way as a winning entry: the answer as it was submitted, with the nickname and the platform handle, if any, that you gave. Clause 7.2 of the Official Rules applies to a late answer as it applies to an answer recognised under clause 5.9 of those rules, including what the Operator may leave out.

8.2 The announcement is made after the checks in clause 6.3, not at a set time after the answer is received.

8.3 The Hunt's record in the list of Hunts on our website then shows that it has been solved, and when: https://www.thevoidbetween.com/drifts

9. How We Contact You

9.1 If the Operator needs to contact you about a late answer, it does so only by email, to the address you gave, from the Contact Email, and in the way clause 5.6 of the Official Rules describes for a winner. Unless a prize is on offer under separate rules, the Operator does not ask a person whose late answer is recognised for any details or confirmation, and there is nothing they need to reply to.

10. Privacy

10.1 Part 10 of the Official Rules (privacy) sets out how the Operator handles the details you give with a late answer, including who handles them, when they are deleted, and your rights. For a late answer, "this Hunt" in Part 10 means the Hunt you chose.

11. General

11.1 These rules are not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta (including Facebook and Instagram), YouTube, TikTok, or any other platform.

11.2 The Operator may update these rules. The version and date at the top show the current rules. A late answer is judged under the rules published when it was received.

11.3 Nothing in these rules limits any right that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

11.4 These rules are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland, Australia.
